As published by Scowlines - Sixty-four X teams competed in a five-race windy event on Lake Geneva. Local talent won out with four Geneva teams in the top ten. Davis and RJ Porter took top prize beating out George Kutschenreuter (TRAP and Quad winner this year) and John Barr. Beulah had three teams in the top ten as brothers Andy and Chris Colombe with crews Neal Klement and Drew Komas took 7th and 10th.

There were five I.L.Y.A. Champions in the top five — Connor Trepton with Parker Trepton (LaBelle) ended 3rd, Robbie Allen with Johnny Ferguson (Minnetonka) took fourth, and Nicholas and Madelyn Clemence (Pewaukee) ended fifth. Michael and Mitchell Lee (runnersup in the I.L.Y.A. champs the last two years and last year's GLSS champ) were 6th and Charlie Morris with Max Six (Geneva and also a top contender last year in the junior I.L.Y.A. X Champs) was 9th.

Perhaps the crowd favorite was Joe and Griffin Rolander who won two races but had a tale to remember on race 5. He was OCS, got caught on the committee boat, somehow tangled his boat in the cannon and caused a second shot to engage. Not everyone can accomplish that! Rolander's finishes were 5-14-1-1-38.

Look for tough competition at this year's I.L.Y.A. Champs! GLSS was a prelim to continued great X boat racing in the I.L.Y.A.
