Dear Sailors and Friends,
Well here we are just a few days from the start of the inaugural Bacardi Miami Sailing Week and we are all excited and ready to go! So far we have 130 boats registered, and a few more on the way, which will ensure great competition in the regattas for the sailors and a great success for the City of Miami and Miami Dade County.
Sailors, please note that all registrations will be held at the Hospitality Village on the following dates & times for your class:
Audi Melges 20: March 10th from 1pm to 4pm
Melges 24: March 10th from 1pm to 4pm
Please review all amendments here.
One of the new features of the Bacardi Miami Sailing Week is the Hospitality Village. It is located in front of the Coconut Grove Convention North Hall where the photographic exhibit Color of Wind by Cory Silken will be hosted. Here we will have a VIP Lounge accessible to guests with passes (please remember to wear your entry bracelets or access will be restricted) from 8 in the morning through 6 at night. Here you will be able to sit in a relaxing lounge atmosphere and enjoy coffee and soft drinks, snacks during the morning and Bacardi Happy Hour from 4:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon. Also, we will have another area where you can shop for fantastic SLAM and Bacardi Miami Sailing Week sailing gear, a larger tented area to sit and enjoy the nightly Bacardi Happy Hour, and a relaxation area.
One of our goals in creating the Bacardi Miami Sailing Week was to bring the sailors and the community together to further cement the strong relationship between Miami, the sport of sailing and it’s community. Keeping this in mind we devised a schedule of activities that will showcase the spirit of Miami to our sailing community.
One of the fascinating activities that we would like to invite all to are the Bacardi Belief Seminars which will be hosted at the Hospitality Village at Dinner Key on March 8th, 9th, and 10th from 3pm to 6pm. These exclusive and very informative events will be hosted by Brand Master Apprentice Juan Coronado. He will educate us on the history, legacy, and mixability of Bacardi Rums. As a bonus, he turn us into professional bartenders by showing us how to make Bacardi classic cocktails so we will leave with a new appreciation for the famous Bacardi Rums.
BACARDI “BAR HOPPING”
Bacardi and Sail the Grove, along with local Coconut Grove merchants, joined forces to bring the true spirit of Miami and South Florida to Coconut Grove for the Bacardi Miami Sailing Week. Below you will find a schedule of different bars and restaurants that will host happy hours.
