Zenda University Kicks off MC Racing Season

16 March 2010

80 plus MC Scows are going to invade Lake Eustis, Florida this week. The official start to the scow racing season. A strong fleet, a fun boat and fantastic camaraderie are part of the Melges MC package. Lake Eustis Sailing Club always puts on a spectacular show that is why MC sailors are coming from all around the USA.

To start there is the famous Zenda University Course. Personal Training for your Melges MC. The concept is to bring your MC sailing up to speed. Tune you up, sail you excessively and teach you how to practice so that you go home with massive improvement in the boat. The course is guaranteed! "We limit the course to 20 boats/sailors so that each person receives up close personal coaching for two days," says Melges President, Andy Burdick. The concept brings new sailors into the fleet, it brings sailors to the Midwinters and it teaches sailors how to race their boats at a high level. Improvement is instant," says Burdick.

This years instructors include Eric Hood of Melges and North Sails. Eric's MC experience is second to none. Not only is he a top level sailor but he is a fantastic teacher of the sport. Ted Keller joins the team this year. It is Ted's first time 'inside view' of Zenda University and he is excited to share his MC experience with the students. Ted is a very good MC sailor and has been successful in many other one-design classes too.
