2011 Caribbean Regatta Season Clean Sweep for Virgin Islands Melges 32 Team INTAC/Crowley:
Team INTAC GlobalInvestments and Crowley win all of the major Caribbean Regattas in 2011 and achieve an average result of 1.1 out of 49 races competed.
The British Virgin Islands, which are renowned for having some of the best sailing conditions in the world, did not disappoint this weekend, delivering three spectacular days of racing to hundreds of eager competitors from all over the world at the 40th Annual BVI Spring Regatta. Virgin Islands' Team INTAC/Crowley did it again this weekend with a convincing victory in their class - CSA Spinnaker Racing 2 and also won the trophy for "Best Overall Boat of the Regatta", matching their results achieved at the Heineken International Regatta and the International Rolex Regatta in the weeks prior. "It is very hard to win one regatta but to win best boat at three of the Caribbean's premier regattas is unheard of. Our company could not be happier with the results, the team delivered beyond our expectations. All I can say is a big congratulations to Mr. Plaxton and his entire crew" stated INTAC's President Tim Vermeulen.
Mark Plaxton's Melges 32 Team INTAC/Crowley, with an all star crew including America's Cup great Peter Holmberg, took seven bullets during the 3 days of spectacular racing. J24 World Champion Anthony Kotoun, main trimmer on the INTAC/Crowley team, said' "we worked very hard together as a team for the last several months and it has paid off handsomely for us and our sponsor".

INTAC's other sponsored boat, the INTAC IC24 fresh from a convincing victory at the Rolex International regatta also took home the 1st place trophy in the IC24 class. INTAC IC24 Skipper Thomas Barrows said the BVI race committee made this regatta the most fun I have ever had", referring to the decision they made on the second day when the whole class raced to the infamous "Willie T" at Norman Island, a floating restaurant and bar known throughout the Caribbean. He added, "the BVI knows how to put on a great regatta!".
