Article from Matt Pistay - Twenty-five teams commenced day one at the Open Orange Bowl Regatta (OOBR), hosted by Coconut Grove Sailing Club in Miami, Florida. Competitors have descended upon South Florida for this great event with the invitation of the 29ers. PRO Ron Rostorfer ran three great races to kick off what will be an amazing regatta!

Race one started in a steady 12-14 knot southerly with USA's Judge Ryan and Hans Henken taking an early lead. Following closely was Spain's Carlos Robles and Florian Trittel. Both teams worked extremely hard all day to keep themselves in the hunt for the overall event title.

The OOBR is being held in conjunction with the International Orange Bowl, which attracts at least a couple hundred kids from all around the world to sail in the Opti, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7 and Club 420 classes.
