PRO Jeff LaBonte gave the fleet a surprise L1 today. With a 1.8 mile windward leg, most thought the race was over at the windward mark but comments indicated downwind sailing has strategic opportunities. Others were happy to have the "interesting experiment". The second race of the day did not require thirds but had great consistent wind. Just a great day of racing on Geneva. And talk about the cadre of thirds. With the boats returning to the piers, most of the thirds were waiting for their new skippers to assist with haul-out. What a credit to the parents and instruction on Geneva to have such fine, young, willing sailors. And here they are: Jack Reynolds, Finn Rowe, Parker Michael, Hunter Sharpe, Charlie Reynolds, Henry Rolander, Harry Melges IV.- champions in so many ways.
