| Mel-Ban Boat Works opened doors to sell Inland Lake Sailboats
circa 1945, to become Melges Boat Works in 1948. The first production
boats were of all things "flat bottom" row boats. Harry Melges Sr. used
this production
to bide his time while gathering together what was to become the most
formidable group of boat builders in the Midwest. A
view from our offices. Zenda
school house is now home to Melges |
