Hi Friends & Fellow MC Scow Skippers,

Team Zenda simply wants to say hello and give you some mid-season encouragement as we near mid-July. We hope that your sailing season at your local club has been a good one so far. If there is anything at all that we can do to serve you please connect with Harry Melges, Andy Burdick, Jim Gluek or myself anytime. We are here to serve you and make your sailing experience the best it can possibly be for the season.

We have heard all sorts of great stories so far this year, and stories quite different with regards to weather. Texas is hanging on to big heat and winds starting the summer late by almost a month in many cases for the northern folks. The good news is that prime time racing is now upon us. In an effort to better support the MC Scow Class, we want to just remind everyone of the great events coming up:

MAJOR MC SCOW REGATTAS TO CONSIDER:
ILYA Championship
August 11-14
Minnetonka, MN

WMYA Championship
August 4-7
Crystal Lake, MI

MC Scow National Championship
September 14-17
Lake Keuka, NY (warm up regatta the week before called the Nor’Easterns on September 10-11)

All three of these events should fall between 50-75 boats per regatta.
Maybe more if you join the fun now!!!

OTHER IMPORTANT EVENTS TO CONSIDER:
MC Masters Championship
October 12-15 – Beaufort, SC

MC Team Championship
September 10-11 – Clear Lake, IA

MC Blue Chip Championship
September 24-25 – Spring Lake, MI

Plus a host of other great club regattas you will see posted on the class website
mcscow.org along with www.ilya.org.

We really want to see great participation with these three majors spread out well across Scow country. It would be great for growing our class and keeping MC Scow sailing strong and on the front burner. Again, please let us know if we can be of service in getting you up to speed today.

As Buddy would say "Start first, increase your lead." Here is a great one from my wife Sue who is new to sailing from this past week at the ILYA Invite “You have to race every leg of the race to do well in the race.”
