The Vanguard Optimist has been proven safe through years of tough use in instructional programs around the world. The flat, square hull and manageable rig are stable in all wind and sea conditions. Each boat carries three floatation bags, guaranteeing a bouyant, self-righting boat. The light-weight hulls are easily manipulated by instructors in a safety boat.

The same Optimist Dinghy that introduced thousands of kids to sailing each year provides a world of sailing opportunities as sailors advance in racing skill.
