The European Melges 32 sailing season is ramping up for an exciting 2009 racing circuit. It all begins with the Credit Suisse Primo Cup hosted by the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco on February 12-15. Back in 2007, this event presented the birth of the great Melges 32 phenomena that has since swept Europe by storm.

In 2009, we have seven very compelling, strong teams on the line — Lanfranco Cirillo/Nicola Celon (Tactician), Fausto Rubbini/Lorenzo Bressani (Tactician), Ernesto Faraco (all-Corinthians), and Mauro Mocchegiani/Andrea Casale (Tactician). Three brand new owners have joined the class — Edoardo Lupi/Roberto Benamati (Tactician), Edoardo Pavesio, and three-time Farr 40 World Champion Vincenzo Onorato/Adrian Stead (Tactician). Welcome to the International Melges 32 Class!

After a number of Winter Tune-Up Meetings sponsored by Audi, the Melges 32s have done anything but rest, in fact they have been warming up for the 2009 Audi Sailing Series — five events, five venues and one coveted championship prize!

Past the Primo Cup and leading up to the 2009 Audi Sailing Series Circuit, do mark your calendars for the MELGES EUROPE Tune-Up Weekend on March 27-29 at Malcesine (Lake of Garda). For more information contact LUISA BAMBOZZI.
